Title: Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't Start But Has Power: Possible Causes?
Linear Mode
#1
So, this happened to me yesterday, and I nearly had a heart attack. I got into my Jeep Grand Cherokee, turned the key, and... nothing. The engine wouldn’t start. But here’s the kicker: the lights, radio, and everything else worked perfectly fine. Naturally, I went through the stages of panic—starting with blaming the key fob, then worrying about the battery, and finally dreading that it might be something serious like the starter or even the ignition switch.

I’ve done a bit of research, and it seems like there could be several culprits. Some folks say it could be the starter motor, which might be sticking or just on its last legs. Others have mentioned issues with the ignition relay or even a problem with the fuel system, like a bad fuel pump. Another possibility is the neutral safety switch, which prevents the car from starting if it’s not in park or neutral.

I’m curious to hear from others who’ve gone through this—what ended up being the issue for you? Did you manage to fix it yourself, or was it a trip to the mechanic? I’m hoping it’s not a massive repair, but I’m ready to tackle whatever it might be. Any advice or shared experiences would be much appreciated! Let’s figure this out together so that the next time this happens, none of us will have to go through the same panic.
