Title: What causes coolant in the exhaust of a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Linear Mode
#1
Oh boy, I’m really hoping this isn’t as bad as it sounds...  I just noticed what looks like coolant in my exhaust, and it’s got me worried. From what I’ve read (and I’m no mechanic), this could be a head gasket issue, which sounds like a nightmare. But I’m really hoping it’s something less severe.

Has anyone else had this problem on their Jeep Grand Cherokee? If so, what was the cause and what was the fix? I’m afraid that if I don’t catch it early, I could end up with a repair bill bigger than my monthly rent.  Could it be as simple as condensation, or am I looking at something major here? Any tips on how to confirm it’s coolant and not just water vapor from cold weather would be super helpful!

I know some people have mentioned possible issues with the intake manifold gasket or even a cracked cylinder head (yikes!), but I’d love to hear real-life experiences before I panic and take it to a shop. Should I start with a compression test, or is there an easier way to diagnose this? Really appreciate any advice, and I’m crossing my fingers that it’s something simple!
