Title: What are the signs of a bad transmission mount on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Threaded Mode
#1
Hey all, so my Jeep Grand Cherokee has been making this weird clunking noise whenever I shift gears or sometimes when I accelerate hard. At first, I thought it was just something loose, but now I’m suspecting it might be the transmission mount. I haven’t had this issue before, so I’m not totally sure what the signs are.

For those of you who have dealt with a bad transmission mount, what were the symptoms before you knew it needed to be replaced? Did you notice anything besides the clunking, like vibrations or rough shifting? I don’t want to let it go too long if it’s something that could cause bigger issues down the line.

Also, how urgent is this? Can I drive around for a bit or is this one of those "fix it ASAP" kind of problems? I don’t want to cause any damage to the transmission or other parts if I wait too long, but I also don’t want to rush into repairs if it’s something I can hold off on for a while.
