Alright, I’ve got a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L V8 HEMI engine, and I’m curious about the top speed. I’m not planning to take it to the limit (at least not on a public road), but I’ve heard some mixed numbers from friends. One of my buddies claims his 2018 GC hit 120 mph, but honestly, that seems a bit risky, especially in a heavier SUV like this.
From what I’ve read, the top speed of the Grand Cherokee depends on the engine. For example, I’ve heard that the 3.6L V6 models top out at around 118 mph, while the V8 models can go a little higher, maybe around 130 mph. And then there’s the insane Trackhawk version with the 6.2L supercharged engine, which I’ve seen videos of hitting 180 mph, but that’s a whole different beast.
So, has anyone here actually taken their GC to top speed? How did it handle at higher speeds? I’m mostly curious about how stable it feels and if you notice any limitations when pushing it like that.
