Title: What to do about a water pump weep hole leak on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Threaded Mode
#1
Hey everyone, I just noticed something concerning on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There’s a small drip coming from the weep hole on the water pump. It’s not gushing or anything, just a slow, steady leak, but it’s definitely noticeable. From what I’ve gathered, the weep hole is there to give you a heads-up that the water pump seals are starting to fail.

The big question is: how serious is this? Should I be rushing to get it fixed, or can it wait a bit? I’ve read that some folks say a small leak isn’t an emergency as long as you keep an eye on your coolant levels, but I don’t want to push my luck and end up stranded somewhere with an overheated engine.

Has anyone else had this issue on their Grand Cherokee? If so, how long did you go before replacing the pump? And did the leak get worse over time? I’m trying to figure out if I should handle this ASAP or if I can finish up a few road trips before getting it fixed. Any advice would be great!
