Hey everyone, I’ve been noticing a strange whistling noise coming from my Jeep Grand Cherokee whenever I accelerate. It almost sounds like the Jeep is trying to whistle along with the wind, and it’s getting louder the faster I go. Has anyone else had this happen?
From what I’ve read, it might be a vacuum leak, possibly from a cracked or loose hose near the intake. But I’m not entirely sure how to tell if that’s the case. Does anyone know exactly which hoses I should be checking, or if there’s another common cause for this noise? I’m hoping it’s not something more serious like an issue with the turbo (if that’s even possible in a Grand Cherokee?).
Also, the noise doesn’t happen when the Jeep is idling – it only kicks in when I press the gas. Could that confirm it’s a vacuum leak? If so, how bad is it to keep driving around like this before I get it fixed?
