So, it's getting cold here in the mornings (talking about 30°F), and my Jeep Grand Cherokee is starting to act weird. Every time I start it up, the idle is really rough. It feels like the engine is shaking and sputtering for the first 5-10 minutes. After the engine warms up, everything seems to go back to normal, and the idle smooths out.
I haven't noticed any warning lights on the dash, but this issue is definitely getting worse as the temperatures drop. I’ve already checked the spark plugs (they seem fine), and the battery is relatively new. Could this be something with the fuel injectors? Maybe the throttle body? I’ve also heard it could be a vacuum leak or even the idle air control valve (IAC).
Should I be looking at those things first, or is there something else I might be missing? Also, has anyone else experienced this in cold weather with their Grand Cherokee? I don’t want to ignore it, but I’d love to know if there’s a common issue with these Jeeps before I take it to the shop and get hit with a big bill. Any advice would be awesome!
